At Alchemy Communications, I believe websites should balance creativity with clarity. The days of cookie-cutter templates are behind us — but so are the days of fragile, hand-coded experiments. Why I do not use WordPress:

I started building with WordPress back in 2003, when it was still pure open source, and I relied on it for over a decade. It was the right tool for its time, but over the years it became more about maintenance than creativity — updates, patches, and plugins that constantly needed attention. Switching to Wix Studio wasn’t easy, but it was the right move: performance, security, and reliability are built in, and my clients don’t have to carry the burden of routine upkeep.

 

When I design a site today, hosting, security, and backups are all handled at the platform level. Every site runs on a global CDN across multiple data centers, so even if one region goes offline, your site stays online. The result is fast, accessible, mobile-first builds that work in both English and Finnish, complete with GDPR-ready consent.

And instead of sinking money into monthly maintenance, you can put that budget toward growth — content, campaigns, and outreach. The platform already comes with the essentials (forms, analytics, booking, e-commerce) without plugin clutter. I’m available for on-demand updates, and I include a short training session so your team can safely edit text and keep the site fresh.
